Today Sophie turns 7 months! I can't even believe it has already been that long. I still don't feel like I've figured the whole parenting thing down yet, but I'm pretty sure I have the happiest baby in the whole world. Sophie will smile at anyone and let anyone hold her. She is ALWAYS happy unless tired or really hungry or we are trying to clean her earrings or give her medicine. She caught her first real illness last week when she woke up with a temperature of 102.6. This lasted throught the entire night and it was still that high when we took her to the doctor the next day. Come to find out, she had the flu and a double ear infection! Poor baby. Of course, she got to sleep with mom and dad for a couple of days. The good news is she is starting to like her crib much better. She will go to sleep on her own as she is wrapped up so tight she can't move and as long as we rock her and sing her song to her first. She's been sleeping pretty well through the night, but her naps are still uber short. We're lucky if she sleeps an hour. I'm not really sure what to do about that. I've tried to get her on a schedule but it always gets messed up when she doesn't sleep long enough. I guess as long as she is happy I won't worry about it too much but its hard to get anything done when I have to put her down for a nap 5 times a day (literally). She is starting to get the hang of baby food and really likes the crackers that dissolve quickly. She eats plenty, but she is still in the 5th percentile for weight. I guess she is just tall like her Dad and petite like I used to be! Anyway, I LOVE being Sophie's mom! Here are pictures from her 7 month "nude" photo shoot. :) She is hilarious.

I love her! I think it's love at first sight. Kind of like if I saw a hot guy in the library and gave him a note expressing my feelings. Kind of like that.
She is so dang cute Tara! She looks like such a happy baby!
We went through the same thing with Naomi as far as naps go. She was a great sleeper at night even from the very beginning, but like you said, she would only take short naps and it was really annoying. My sister-in-law recommended a book that her employer (my sister-in-law was a nanny) worships for how well it helped her kids--she has twin girls and a boy. we used it and it was awesome. It doesn't really say you HAVE to do this or that, it just helps you understand babies' sleep patterns etc. Okay enough blabbing, the book is:
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child
by Marc Weissbluth
you can buy it used on Amazon for pretty cheap or just check it out at the library. Good Luck!
p.s. Naomi is the best sleeper ever now!
