A Month of Many Firsts and Fun

Sawyer's first day as a sunbeam. He was obviously not as emotional about it as I was!

Austin & Cate <3 p="">

The many faces of Sophie Joy. The pouty one is the one I've been seeing the most of lately.

Cate's first time cheerleading! She did a day camp at Capital High.

Cute minion cousins!

The only boy.

We went to the "Pop-Up" Park at Edward's Greenhouse. It was nice to play on the grass in the warmth!

Poor Mickey had a hard time with his shots this last time and it took about 5 days for him to start feeling better. Now he has one droopy ear and one that stands up. :( He loves his car seat though!

Sawyer asks me to take pictures of him all the time and then immediately wants to see it. Usually at the gym.

First time ice skating as a family! Sawyer hated it but he looked so cute in his little skates! Cate was a daredevil and kept running into people and Sophie's love of rollerblading paid off. It was a fun night with our neighbors!

Cate has been figuring out harmony to songs on the radio while we are in the car. She says mom, you sing your part and I'll sing mine! She is also still playing the piano by ear, figuring out the melody with her right hand and then chords with the other. I am overwhelmed because I know she is very gifted and I want her to excel but we can't afford to put her in all the classes we should. We are signing her with a talent agency in Salt Lake and the plan is to go down there once a month or so for a gig and then use that money for her classes. We will see if this works out or not but we thought it was worth a try! Here are her first headshots:

Phil's mom always takes the kids to JC Penney once a year for pictures. It turned out pretty great this year!

It's a New Year in Lava

We met the Patricks in Lava Hot Springs for New Years and had a fabulous weekend sledding, going to the hot springs, playing games and catching up with them.

Look how cute our cottage was!

The kiddies.

Snow bunnies.

The dads playing games on their phones. Grrr

Christmas Time is Here

Cate had a dance recital and danced a solo to Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Cooper & Sawyer starting early in their Dr. Mario training!

Sophie and Kadence sang at Kadence's baptism party. They totally rocked it! They are me and Natalie's mini-me's. :)

Our first MCO concert!

It was so fun to share the stage with my girls! They looked so cute in their concert attire and had a blast.

It really is an amazing and uplifting organization! www.millennial.org

This is what happens when Cate chooses her own outfits:

Silly boy.

Cuties in the car!

Visiting Santa at the military family fun night:

She had some deep conversations with him.

I took my boys on our Holiday Tour. We stopped at the capital building.

And the Powerhouse Event Center for the Kiwanis Club's luncheon. It's a really cool venue!

Our Christmas card this year!

Phil's fam came to the ward Christmas party. It was a breakfast this year!

Rockin' it at Phil's work Christmas party.

Sophie sang a solo in "Song of Peace" during her school program and did a great job!

Fun family time at the Botanical Gardens Winter Garden-a-Glow.

Sawyer and Mickey napping together.

These two are ridiculous. They are pretty much inseparable.

Mickey in his new sweater Grandma bought him.

We have decided his full name will be: Mickey Macaroni Mason

Cate loves him a little too much. Run, Mickey, run!

I had a blast again singing with my HHH ladies around town for the holidays!

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

We went caroling with the Jangulas too!

My piano students had a fabulous holiday concert at my mom's where we got to try out her new baby grand.

Cate, the rockstar, hanging with Jess.

Sophie made this house for our little Elf!

The two days before Christmas Caitlin insisted on wearing a bow on her cheek. The first day it was silver, the second day gold.

Snowman & sledding fun in the backyard.

Sophie with her bestie, Ande.

Sophie and Navy on an "ice adventure". :)

Cousin sleepovers are the best!

This little bug in a rug is the sweetest!

And also a very scary ninja.

And also Phil's mini-me!

Sawyer the puppy.

Christmas Eve Day with Papa & TJ, Clark & Trish.

Christmas morning with Grandma and Lala.

Lala gave the girls ruby necklaces made from the rubies in her wedding ring.

Grandma gave them all kids' Kindle Fires!
