My New Jobs!

Since Phil isn't getting very much work right now, its a good thing I have two new jobs!

Kiwanis Boy's Choir
So...my cousin Matt is the choir director at Boise High School and had commited to the Kiwanis Boy's Choir as well this year. He decided that he is just too busy to give it the time and preparation it needs so...he offered it to me. Since the year was already half way over, I have been given the title of "assistant" director of the Kiwanis Boy's Choir. It's perfect for me because the rehearsals are only once a week for an hour and 1/2. The boys are so fun and we have a great time, but I must admit sometimes they can get a little out of control! Hopefully I'll be able to take over next year as "director".

My brother hooked me up with this job. I am the new moderator for Zappos.com's "Daily Shoe Digest". It is a discussion list sent by e-mail and published three days per week. You can post to the list and share ideas and tips about shoes. It works just like a bulletin board you'd visit online, except that it is sent by e-mail. Topics covered include: fitting shoes properly, brands and styles of shoes, special foot needs, health issues for the feet, hard to find sizes and brands, activity-specific shoe recommendations and many, many more. As long as the topic is related to shoes, we discuss it! So....here is the link where you can subscribe. I would love to have you send me your comments and I'll post them in an issue! You would be surprised about how controversial shoe topics can be. For example: the latest argument is whether or not you can dress Crocs "up". Its pretty funny, there are many heated opinions from each side!

6 months already!

I can't believe Sophie will be 6 months old next week. She is sitting up pretty well so we gave her rice cereal for the first time on Valentine's Day. She loves it and instantly knew to open her mouth wide for the spoon! She probably has been ready for a while. We went to get her ears pierced just in time for Valentine's Day. She screamed for a few seconds, but quickly forgot about it. I think her earings look adorable! She is still a happy baby as long as she has enough sleep, but the last week or so she has decided not to sleep through the night anymore. She will wake up every 20-30 min crying until we go hold her arms still for a few seconds and she'll fall asleep again. Does anyone know of a baby straight jacket?!
