All About Sophie

I haven't done a post about Sophie lately so here are some updates I don't want to forget about her at 2 1/2 years old:

*I made the mistake of saying "I mean it!" the other day when she was postponing bedtime with every excuse she could think of. Now she says, "I mean it!" when she means it...which is every time she wants something.

*If you ask her what her name is, she'll tell you "Dopey". Yes, apparently I named my daughter after one of the seven dwarfs.

*One of Sophie's favorite games is to hide something behind her back and ask me, "Whichy one, mommy, whichy one?"

*She thinks the baby is inside my belly button and always tries to look as deep in there as she can saying, "I wanna see! I wanna see!" She talks about how when it gets bigger and comes out, she gets to help mommy feed it milk, give it a bath, change its diaper and hold it.

*We've been talking a little about how Papa is sick. When she saw him the next time, he picked her up and she looked at him and said, "You OK, Papa?"

*The melody for the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is her song of choice and even just playing around will always sing that melody with whatever words she chooses to use. The other day it was "I made mommy sad, I made mommy sad."

*Since Phil has been gone, she doesn't really want to talk to him on the phone but I've discovered if I tell her he's sad, she will immediately take the phone and talk to him. She must get that sensitive side from her daddy.

*She's really into her Tinkerbell and "baby Tinkerbell" movies. She calls Peter Pan "baby Tinkerbell" because she is so small compared to the Tinkerbell movie.

*She doesn't use any prepositions in her sentences like "for" or "with". For example she will say "Mommy, play me?" instead of "Mommy, play with me?"
