The Air Guard & 17 Months

I have been blogging about Sophie each month since she was born and it seems I've forgotten about month 16. Oh, well. I'll just lump it in with 17. Anyone who has been around Sophie lately knows what an energetic little drama queen she has become. She keeps us exhausted but at the same time gives us more joy than we've ever known. She loves to be outside and point at everything, especially birds or dogs. She loves giving the dogs treats and throws a big fit when we won't let her give them more than one. She has in the past been WAY too busy to sit down and let us read her a book, but she is finally getting into them and will bring them to us and sit in our laps for at least the first few pages. She loves to say hi and bye and blow or give kisses to everyone. She has started saying the word "more" now as she does the sign and instead of saying no when she means yes, she says "tay". We're not sure if she's trying to say "yeah" or "kay". She has finally made the 20 pound mark! 8 oz of Pediasure each day seems to have helped with that. At least she's gaining weight, even if she's not on the chart.

Many of you know that Phil has decided to join the Air Guard. He wants to be a pilot. He'll hopefully find out this week when he'll leave for boot camp, but it probably won't be until the end of the summer. We both feel it is the direction our family needs to go right now. We need the health insurance, retirement, and other support right now. Phil's job is too sketchy right now and we need some backbone. So...anyone want to move in with us while he's gone? :) I'll update as soon as we hear from the recruiter.
