We drove to Utah for the 4th last weekend. Trisha and her boyfriend Brian went with us and they really helped keep Sophie happy during the long car ride. We had a really nice time visiting Grandpa & Grandpa Goodsell and other family. Sophie was mesmerized by the fireworks, but wasn't afraid of them at all. She loved playing with my young cousins (her second cousins?) and she learned how to wave on Saturday (watch the video!).
At 10 months she is crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. She loves books and baths and Cheerios but the real question is...is she finally sleeping through the night??? After 2 frustrating nights in Utah this weekend, we realized there was no other way to get Sophie to sleep than to let her cry. So last night, we covered her sheets with towels (for when she would throw up) and braced ourselves. She did throw up twice, but after that she only cried for a half an hour and slept through most of the night! Maybe it was because she was exhausted from the trip, but I have hope. I think the first time we let her cry when she was 6 months old, she was just too young. Now I think it may work! I put her down for her nap this morning and she didn't cry at all! I'm so excited!!!!!!! Maybe I'll get rid of the dark circles under my eyes after all...
